Knowing Jesus and making Him known!

What it means

All things done at Breakthru Church are done in Jesus Christ and for Him. All that we do is centered on knowing Jesus and making Him known. It is a firm steadfast faith that all things are possible in Jesus Christ. If we are not glorifying Jesus in a task or ministry then we do not do that task or ministry.

  • Ezekiel 16 v 8 “… I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine”
  • 1 Samuel 18 v 3 “And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself.”
  • Galatians 3 v 23 – 29 “… There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Choosing to be more than friends!

What it means

God made covenant relationships with His children. We are the children of God and His promises are trustworthy and applicable to each and every child of God. God made such a deep covenant with us that it cost the life of his son Jesus Christ. The children of God also made covenant relationships with one another in Jesus Christ, we love God above all else and we love one another as we love ourselves.

  • Acts 2 v 42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

Celebrating each other in Christ Jesus!

What it means

We fellowship together at church and in each other homes. We learn and study the word of God and we break bread together to remember Jesus. We celebrate our fellowship as being part of His kingdom and celebrate that Jesus is coming again and that we have hope in Jesus Christ.

  • Acts 1 v 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Going to all nations, making disciples!

What it means

We are called to make disciples of all nations, in our community and further to all nations as per the commissioning of Jesus Christ. We intentionally meet new people in new areas and new groups, engage them and strategically build relationships with the purpose of effectively leading them to Christ and disciplining them into being disciples of Jesus Christ.

  • Matthew 25 v 14 – 30 Parable of the Talents “…’Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!…”

Giving back more than we receive!

What it means

We choose to be faithful stewards of all that God has given us and give us. Not burying what is given but making it grow through intentional, strategic and effective methods that produce a harvest and return for the kingdom and for Jesus Christ. We aim to hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant” by our Lord God when we meet Him.
